New Projects

Any new thoughts or newly announced projects will be posted here while in their inception stage. Since this blog is getting started, all of the projects are currently new, at least to you, the reader.

My current projects are, in no particular order:

  • The Destiny Engine - a game engine designed to play a custom Star Wars game that isn't shackled to who has the license or any of the previous systems.
  • Unnamed Mecha Project - I'm disenchanted with every Mecha game out there to one degree or another, so I'm writing some rules so I don't have to set down to play Battletech ever again.
  • In the Grip of The Dreamlords - a high concept game in which reality changed in 2012 due the culmination of work by a group of mystics working for thousands of years. Now, anyone who before was a Lucid Dreamer can now control the flux of reality around them in the same way they could craft and shape their dreams. The Blog gets it name from this general idea.
  • Simplexity - This particular brain-worm has been trying to escape my head since 2004; it has come a long way and had at least two redesigns, but I've never been completely happy with it, and it has been my original drive for creating games and systems. It is currently on hold until the muse strikes me again, and so I can work on some ironically simpler ideas to release free to the public, as I want to release Simplexity as a commercial entity.
  • A Gaijin's Take on The JTRPG - My attempt at creating a Japanese style game; hindered by the fact I can't read Japanese.
  • My d20 Project - Spurred by the initial announcement of WotC about D&D Next, what started as an attempt to take my favorite elements of 3.5/Pathfinder, 4th edition, & elements from various and sundry fantasy games, and redesign them with an eye towards the OSR is quickly taking on a form of its very own. I have yet to decide if I want to reel it in or let it roam free and see where it ends up.
